January 28, 2009 - Supply Chain Management during an Economic Downturn
Kane Is Able, through our corporate relationship with Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business, enjoyed the honor of hosting a timely, topical workshop on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Pyramid Club in center city Philadelphia. The day long symposium entitled, "Managing Supply Chains Through an Economic Downturn," was well attended by a diverse cross section of business leaders from companies such as Kraft, Johnson & Johnson, and Church & Dwight.
Dr. Bruce Arntzen, co-founder of Avicon Partners, delivered the keynote presentation, "Recession Proof Your Supply Chain". Dr. Arntzen discussed the importance of having contingency plans in place so organizations can mitigate their risk during downturns, which as history has proven are inevitable.
Following the opening presentation, three co-leaders (John Metzger, Dave Demers, and Paul Strzelec) shared their perspective on some areas where companies should focus their energy during this period of economic uncertainty. Interactive panel discussions and breakout sessions concluded the day’s events.
