Upon hearing KANE’s recent affiliation with ALAN, Jock Mendes, President of ALAN, explained that, “…the whole point of ALAN is to enable connections between industries in a productive way, not some yard sale dumped in a container and sent off to become part of the problem.” Working together we can all make a difference and provide a smooth network to execute that humanitarian effort.
ALAN helps engage the supply chain community to support humanitarian relief efforts, by serving as a primary point of contact for disaster relief efforts. ALAN was established during the chaos which followed Hurricane Katrina. They coordinate supply chains so necessary provisions can be brought to the right locations at the right time.
Their web-portal, www.ALANaid.org, is utilized to make needs visible to the community at large. Acting as the point of contact, ALAN then organizes the donations with supply chain services such as warehousing and transportation. |
