April 5, 2009 - Kane Quarterly Town Hall Meetings

Over the last month, Kane Is Able has been hosting the first of what will become quarterly town hall meetings with all associates in the company. The meetings are designed to continue with Kane’s long-standing tradition of an open door policy – ensuring associates have the ability to ask questions and share ideas with management and colleagues alike.

The recently completed first round of meetings focused primarily on the current world economic climate, the strong health of the company, and the actions Kane has taken as a company to remain competitive and position ourselves for continued growth despite the economic downturn.

The meetings were designed to be interactive – encouraging questions, feedback and open dialogue. Meeting attendance was mandatory to ensure that everyone heard the same message and benefited from hearing the direct responses to any questions asked.

In addition to the many questions asked by associates, many associates also offered suggestions for continued savings and efficiencies that would be realized with improvements to practices.

Overall the feedback gathered from these town hall meetings was very positive. Many associates thanked the management team for taking time to share the company’s plans and were grateful that we were involving all associates in the on-going dialogue.

In April and May, Kane plans to continue with a second round of these meetings. The focus will be on an economic assessment of where we are competitively, as well as discuss some of the recent activity of the newly revamped sales and marketing team.

As always, associates were encouraged to keep the cost saving idea flowing and as well as encouraged to continue to make active use of the open door policy when they have a concern or question that needs a response.
