|  | This June, Kane was recognized for outstanding service to Kimberly-Clark at the Second Annual Supplier Recognition Awards luncheon held in Houston, Texas. Dick Kane, President and CEO; Harry Drajpuch, Chief Operating Officer (COO); Mike Marlowe, VP – Regional Operations; Steve Kearney, Facility Manager K-C PA; and Kevin Wolford, Facility Manager K-C KS were in attendance to receive this honor. Tom Falk, Kimberly-Clark Chairman of the Board and CEO, presented the award, which recognizes Kimberly-Clark’s top 1% of their 1400 suppliers worldwide. Kane is the first third party logistics provider (3PL) to receive this award. |
| Dick Kane expressed, “We are very proud to receive this special recognition award from Kimberly-Clark, a world class organization. This award is a direct result of our associates and their commitment to our mission statement of ‘exceeding our customers’ expectations’. We are blessed to have a wonderful team and this is a direct result of their dedication and hard work.” Harry Drajpuch, added, “This achievement is the result of collaboration between the great associates of both organizations. We look forward to the challenge of becoming a repeat recipient.”
The Kimberly-Clark Pittston, PA building, a newly constructed LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified facility, began distribution operations in January 2008. Kane was able to ramp-up the Pittston facility, while relocating and closing out the previous facility located in Hazleton, PA. The logistical challenge was balancing the inventories between the two sites. Kane developed and executed a seamless transition plan which enabled our associates to maintain our consistently high level of service to Kimberly-Clark with no service interruption to their customers. Joe DeYoung, Distribution Operations for Kimberly-Clark succinctly encapsulated the reaction from K-C by stating, “You said you could do it; and you did.”
