Need a Bigger Boat

Published by Alex Stark on January 01, 2010

Not so much a bigger boat, but probably a different boat altogether.  The 21st century demands of sustainability and resource awareness almost screams that the current logistics supply chain model be updated.

In the total cost of the distribution of products, $7 out of every $10 dollars are dedicated to the transport of those goods.  This is a great opportunity as well as a challenge to the industry.

Organizations like Capgemini are thought leaders in this arena. Here's an interesting piece they did on the subject of collaboration.
