Kane Is Able Recognized for 15 Years of Sponsorship

Kane Is Able was formally recognized for their partnership at the spring corporate sponsors meeting held at Penn State University. On hand from Kane Is Able to accept the honor were Bobby Banerjee, VP, Program Management and Alex Stark, Senior Director, Marketing.

Thirty years ago, Penn State constructed a forum where industry leaders could meet with academics and exchange ideas surrounding business logistics. The Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR) continues today with an active line-up of about 50 companies representing all aspects of the supply chain from manufacturers, retailers, and practitioners.

Kane Is Able received the 15-year award from Steve Tracey, Executive Director of the Center for Supply Chain Research™, Smeal College of Business.

In 2018, Gartner, Inc. once again ranked Penn State number one in supply chain education for both graduate and undergraduate programs.

Additionally, KANE was thrilled to participate in the annual Supply Chain Pitch contest. It was event’s fourth year being held at Penn State hosted by the Center for Supply Chain Research and the Farrell Center for Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This is a university-wide competition open to all disciplines, however, the pitch is based in supply chain management. This year’s contest had over 50 applications. The final four presented their business plans to a panel of judges this spring.

Bobby Banerjee served as a judge for the event along with representatives from CVS, Wegmans, and Lansdale Warehouse.

The winning team was Team GreenBriq. The team received $6,000. Their mission is to bring sustainable fuel briquettes to Kenya. There is a need to replace expensive charcoal-based fuel in Africa. GreenBriq uses affordable and accessible resources to address this issue.
